Travelodge St. Albans City Centre

Great location near the city. Very clean and spacious rooms, but walls are paper thin, I could hear someone's phone vibrating early in the morning. The shower was lovely. You get 2 kitkats in the room. I really enjoyed that part. No one at reception to check you in, but the process is very simple and pretty much all done for you, not like other companies where you have to do it yourself. I did find the bed was too firm, not my thing but that's everyone's own preference.

Centrally located hotel within walking distance to amenities and entertainment. On check in, Kate was extremely helpful with local knowledge and hidden gems which were a must-see. I have a chronic health condition which requires walking aids, although my request about having a ground floor centrally located room, wasn't actioned. Kate was able to resolve this without any fan fair. In a world of automation and AI, it was lovely to have a personal touch. Kate is friendly, personable and a downright delight. I would stay at this particular branch again, mainly due to the staff and customer service. Thank you, Kate and Have a Happy New Year <3

I live in nearby Harpenden but often visit St Albans but recently have popped into this hotel as a non resident to enjoy there delicious and amazing breakfasts Staff are also extremely friendly, helpful and professional. A lovely plethora of breakfast items including full buffet of English traditional breakfasts, toast, fruit, yoghurts,etc. Spacious, warm and relaxing lounge to sit in.

We arrived at 12 had a easy digital room key to let us into our room. Very nice room nothing wrong with it! Had all the essentials in the room! Also had breakfast the next morning very nice! But pancakes were kind of hard.

This was a remarkably well-appointed and well-run hotel, especially for the very reasonable price I paid. It looks almost new, and is very spic and span. My room was very pleasant. Breakfast was very good, ah be excellent value. The staff were very agreeable. A good place to stay right in the centre of St Albans

There's no human interaction, just a computer interface. But room was clean and comfortable. A little bit noisy even on a weekday till about 11 pm.

Most recent stay, whole 1st floor smelt of weed, my room stank of weed, mentioned to reception who agreed the floor was smelt of cannabis but not much they could do as couldn't identify which room was at fault. Appreciate the venue can't choose it's customers and I have scored the stay on the basis that I wasn't getting high on someone else's supply, but there was no offer to change rooms or to discount the stay, it was the "can't do anything" approach that left me disappointed. Other stays here have been good, rooms are starting to show signs of wear and tear, but rooms are clean and feel clean, the self-check in is a love it or loth it thing, works well with your phone though, friendly bar and small restaurant for business travellers not wanting to venture out into the town

I know others have not liked this especially , but everything was fine for our visit, we had 3 rooms and everyone was fine with their rooms and visit , the view from our window was not great , we seem to get a view of air-conditioning units everywhere we go , so are used to it. The location is great and there is a carpark very close by , and it is very handy for the town centre . The staff at the bar were pleasant and welcoming , and getting food late at night was a bonus .
